London Festival of Architecture 2023

The Zaha Hadid Foundation hosted a series of events with other organisations as part of the London Festival of Architecture (LFA) 2023.

Day Symposium: Designing Restaurants, Bars and Nightclubs was organised with the Modern Interiors Research Centre at Kingston University and designed to accompany Zaha’s Moonsoon: An Interior in Japan. It explored the design history of hospitality spaces, with talks by Fiona Fisher (Kingston University), Catharine Rossi (University for the Creative Arts), Johan Deurell (ZHF) and Hui-Ying Kerr (Nottingham Trent University). Jana Scholze (Kingston University) also chaired a panel discussion on The Design of Conviviality with architect-turned-restauranteur Elly Ward, and interior designers Andres Ros Soto and Ben Kelly.

The Symposium was followed by a chance to view Zaha’s Moonsoon: An Interior in Japan after hours, as part of LFA’s Studio Late programme in Clerkenwell, London.

We also hosted The Snake House: Finland’s most radical co-housing scheme, a discussion organised by The Finnish Institute in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and the Cross Pollinator Project: Portfolio Review Workshop for students ages 16-21 by Artificial Kreativity.
