89° of Zaha Hadid: Day 2 at Zaha Hadid Foundation

The Zaha Hadid Foundation—in collaboration with the Architectural Association and Serpentine—is delighted to share ‘89 Degrees of Zaha Hadid’, a two-day symposium on 30 and 31 October celebrating the life, work and architectural worlds of Zaha Hadid.

This special event, taking place on her 76th birthday ten years after her passing, brings together over 40 scholars, collaborators and friends over seven sessions to chart the worlds that made Zaha, the worlds that spun in her inimitable orbit, and the worlds that continue to emerge from her legacy.

Curated by Aric Chen, Jihane Dyer, Francesco Fiammenghi (Zaha Hadid Foundation), Shumon Basar (Architectural Association) and Hans Ulrich Obrist (Serpentine).

Friday 30 October will be hosted at the Architectural Association, exploring Zaha’s early life in Baghdad and Beirut, her years at the AA—first as a student and then as a teacher—and the methods of representation implemented by her and her collaborators. Please click here for more information and for ticketing.

Saturday 31 October will be hosted at the Zaha Hadid Foundation, delving into her design work across scales, the role of clients, and her significance as an iconic figure within and beyond architecture.

Featuring: Domitilla Dardi, Oliver Domeisen, Rolf Fehlbaum, Masoud Golsorkhi, Eva Jiřičná, H.E. Shaikha Mai bint Mohamed Al Khalifa, Rowan Moore, Paolo Moroni, Marco Sammicheli, William Sawaya, Davide Spina, Deyan Sudjic, Sumayya Vally, Margarita Valova and Philip Michael Wolfson.

It is our great hope that you will be able to join us for what promises to be a significant moment of celebration and reflection!
